Detoxing Continued Day #14 – Eating Organic

detox-foods
One of the keys to doing a nutritional detox is to avoid placing any chemicals into your body that may be harmful or interfering with your body’s ability to detoxify.  There are multiple compounds in pesticides or herbicides that have the ability to interfere with and disrupt the enzymes involved in detoxification process of your body.  Therefore it is always best to eat organic particularly when doing a nutritional detox.

One of the easiest ways to do this is to sign up for a community supported agriculture or CSA.  2 of our local CSA is that I have subscribed to either currently or in the past are Inland Empire CSA (inlandempirecsa.com) or Harvest 2 U (harvest2u.com).both organizations gleaned from organic forms were found locally.  This helps not only to support your body and its ability to detoxify even better but it also supports our local economy.

One interesting study about eating organic was done by high school student in Texas.  Please see this interesting link on how she looked at fruit flies to see which group would reproduce and grow faster, a group eating organic food or a group eating fruit treated with Pesticides.
